Questions concerning your application

We only employ extras from Berlin/Potsdam and the immediate vicinity.

Which qualifications are needed to become an extra?

None! Everyone can be an extra. Age, height, nationality or experience do not matter. Everyone who can imagine having fun working in front of a camera fulfills all the requirements.

What do I have to pay to be in the agency?

Starting January, 1st 2009 we charge a handling fee of 5 € for all new members. Other than that, you will have no additional costs.

Do I need an appointment?

No. It takes only ten minutes to become an extra at our agency and an appointment is not needed.
We are available on every friday from 10 am - 6 pm. At 1pm there is a one hour lunch break:
Come by whenever it is best for you.

What do I have to expect when I come by?

To become an extra it is required to visit us in person at our office at Rönnestr. in Berlin-Charlottenburg.
You have to fill out a form to provide all relevant information for our work. After you finished filling out the form, we take some pictures of you and that's it.

But I do have to pay for the pictures!?

No. It is in our interest that we can present the extras to our clients on pictures that are up-to-date and in a standard form and quality. Creating the pictures is included in the 5 €.
It is free of charge to take new pictures for a profile.

I have made professional pictures, can't I use them?

We also include them in your profile but use our own pictures first. Professional pictures usually show you already put in scene, an achievement the director would like to do on his own.
Therefore they are not beneficial for a placement, although they are probably much nicer than ours from an aesthetic point of view..

What should I take with me or be prepared for when I come by?

You do not have to regard much: for your settlement we would like to have your social security number or retirement number. In case you do not (already) have one, we will take you nevertheless.
For better pictures it would be nice to wear dark colored clothes. Big brand names, small patterns or stripes on clothes are not good, because they cause the moire-effect (the ugly flickering).

I am unemployed - can I still work as an extra?

Yes, it is basically no problem. More detailed information for unemployed persons can be found in „questions concerning the payment“.

I don't have German citizenship - can I still work as an extra?

This is also not a problem. As an EU citizen you can work in Germany. If you are not from an EU country, you need a work permission and a permission to stay in Germany.

I have a dog - can I take him with me?

Dogs are not needed often but when we place them we have to have pictures from them, so please bring your doggy with you. By the way, we also have dogs. Please ask at the entrance, so that we can put ours away.
