How much time do I have in advance?

This varies but most of the time not much. Rarely you have two days in advance, often just one. It is different in movies involving costumes because of the fitting and make-up check which is needed before. In that case we will call you earlier (up to ten days ahead).
All this information is just derived from experience. Every project is different.

How do you contact me?

By phone. The time in advance is short, such that we try mobile phones or normal phones first.

Does it make sense when I call you from time to time?

Of course everyone can bring him or herself to mind every once in a while. But it makes more sense to take care of your calendar, which is located in your personal online profile.
Just a short reminder: we have 16.000 extras. I don't even want to think about everyone giving us just a call....

I need more time in advance because I am usually working

Let us know this and we mark it in your profile. Of course this minimizes your chances because in the film industry daily changes are very common. It is especially frustrating for you when you take a day off and the shooting day is moved. So we can only partly recommend to be an extra.

What shall I wear on the shooting day?

Sometimes you get a call from the costume department to explain it to you; sometimes we tell you something when we let you know time and place of the shoot. Every production is happy when you bring another jacket or a different sweatshirt with you, so that the costume department can make you fit in the picture perfectly. When you are asked to bring a bigger assortment with you, you will get paid for it.
